England National Football Team Vs Malta National Football Team Lineups

England defeated Malta 4-0 at Ta’ Qali last June and have gone unbeaten since. Gareth Southgate will likely be favoured to claim victory once more this time around, and also ensure top spot in Group C of Euro 2024 qualifying qualifiers.

Trent Alexander-Arnold plays midfield and looks to take full advantage of any opportunities to showcase his abilities. After dodging past Paul Mbong he sends over a pass for Marcus Rashford.

Jordan Pickford

Gareth Southgate will need to make some key personnel decisions during his first senior squad selections, especially regarding centre defense personnel. Manchester City starlet Eberechi Eze could make his international debut while Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could also earn senior selection.

At half-time against Malta in their Euro 2024 qualifying match, England are 3-0 up and on track to top Group C ahead of Monday’s meeting with North Macedonia. Unfortunately for England however, five injury absences including Jude Bellingham, James Maddison, Lewis Dunk, Levi Colwill and Callum Wilson will mean fringe players Rico Lewis, Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer could step in as important performers while Trent Alexander-Arnold has been moved further upfield in the second half and could contribute towards setting up their fourth goal against Malta.

Kieran Trippier

Gareth Southgate will be keen to maintain England’s 100% record in Group C after their previous appearance was so decisive in Ta’ Qali. They already qualified for next summer’s tournament in Germany and can secure top two finish with victory.

Kieran Trippier will take over from Kyle Walker at right back for Manchester City after recovering fully, with Marc Guehi likely making his England debut for Crystal Palace and Levi Colwill making an impactful senior debut for Brighton in Malta.

Southgate will give various fringe players a chance, such as Manchester City’s Eberechi Eze who hopes to make his senior debut after just a week since ending his club season. Rico Lewis from Brighton will join them along with several Premier League stars who have been training this week.

Harry Maguire

Gareth Southgate will hope his players can maintain their unblemished record against Malta, having dispatched the Mediterranean minnow 4-0 in their previous matchup. Gareth Southgate holds an unassailable track record against this nation.

Manchester City’s quartet of stars, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden – will all make appearances tonight alongside fringe players who may or may not feature next season such as Marc Guehi, Mason Mount and Declan Rice. Eberechi Eze is expected to make his senior debut after quickly ascending through Crystal Palace from Chelsea; he’ll team up with Fikayo Tomori as part of England defence.

John Stones

England defender John Stones is widely considered to be one of its top players, both for Manchester City and for England. At 27-years-old he has established himself as a world-class player thanks to his technical ability.

Stones will look to build on his successful start to the season by helping Gareth Southgate’s side secure another win against Malta. After two wins in their opening two Euro 2024 qualifying group matches, England currently lead their group and could move closer towards automatic qualification with another triumph against one of their weaker oppositions in Malta.

Declan Rice

James Maddison, Jude Bellingham, Callum Wilson, Lewis Dunk and Levi Colwill have been hit hard by injuries but Rice has still made an impression under Southgate. The Manchester City player displayed incredible form towards the end of club season which could see him earn himself a starting place for England.

England won their Group C match 3-0 over Malta and North Macedonia who are already out of Euro 2024 qualifying. England were in good position to qualify for Germany next summer after Kane sent in an exquisite pass into the channels for Marcus Rashford of Man United who got into position but couldn’t make contact. Phil Foden then sent in a corner kick that Saka headed narrowly wide before Kane won and converted a penalty kick for England’s third. With this victory over Group C opponents Malta and North Macedonia who already out of Euro 2024 qualification; England were in prime position to qualify for finals next summer in Germany!

Jordan Henderson

England held possession but were unable to break through Malta’s stubborn rearguard action. Dele Alli shot wide while substitute Bukayo Saka’s shot was blocked by Cain Attard; furthermore a reckless challenge by Jordan Henderson on Darren Fletcher earned him a yellow card from referee Ian Foderingham.

Gareth Southgate had enough options in his squad to field an effective starting XI, even without Jude Bellingham, James Maddison, Lewis Dunk, Levi Colwill or Callum Wilson – giving Ezri Konsa and Cole Palmer their debuts as first-teamers.

65 minutes: Saka makes himself known on the right wing and his ball just loops over Maguire’s head. England are pressing with more intent now; Trent Alexander-Arnold fires a 25-yard effort straight at Henry Bonello as England begin their 11 win streak!

Conor Gallagher

England are unlikely to offer much resistance against minnows like Belarus but Gareth Southgate will take this chance to test out fringe players such as Rico Lewis and Cole Palmer before hoping that England maintain their undefeated start in Euro 2024 qualifying.

Marcus Rashford may miss out again as Southgate saves him for the trip to North Macedonia next week – which should prove challenging but the Manchester United striker has proven he can handle such pressure before.

Kyle Walker and Bukayo Saka have been introduced at halftime, as replacements for Conor Gallagher and Fikayo Tomori, to add speed to England’s offensive play.

James Maddison

Last June, England triumphantly dispatched Malta 4-0 at Ta’ Qali to maintain their unblemished record against them and another crushing win is likely here. Gareth Southgate has made changes to his squad with Kyle Walker and Bukayo Saka replacing Conor Gallagher and Fikayo Tomori who had to withdraw due to injury.

Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool made an impactful start, setting up the opener and scoring twice himself. Harry Kane added another penalty just before half time while Callum Wilson struck late to keep England’s march toward Germany on track. Eberechi Eze made his senior debut but came too late for it to make any real impactful contribution; nonetheless he’s one to keep an eye on going forward; he exudes confidence like it’s his destiny to become an incredible footballer; an augury bodes well for England as it takes another step closer towards Germany!

Phil Foden

England’s march towards Euro 2024 continues with the debuts of Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and Ezri Konsa in their respective senior squads – following call ups by Head Coach Gareth Southgate earlier in 2018. All three young men were part of England Under-21s squad heading off to European Championships this summer, showing great form with their club sides as part of Under 21 squads en route.

Foden has previously been capped twice, but since his return to Manchester City in the summer of 2017 has largely gone unsung. After playing well in an Under-17 final win against Celtic and returning from injury he could link up with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson in midfield; or could replace Conor Gallagher up front along with Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka. Jarrod Bowen may also offer alternatives.

Harry Kane

Gareth Southgate opts to make changes, with Kyle Walker and Bukayo Saka replacing Conor Gallagher and Fikayo Tomori on England’s bench as part of a strategy shift to build upon England’s lead. They could join Tomori if England fail to do so themselves.

As the game enters its final ten minutes, both teams remain tied at 1-1 but the hosts can take comfort in knowing they haven’t conceded since half time. Harry Kane had an opportunity to double England’s score from the penalty spot but was booked for simulation after challenging Bonello for a pass inside his area – potentially being decisive moment but nevertheless England are determined not to allow this match-up slip away from them.
